Shoaib Akhtar Goes Savage on Rohit Sharma! Shocking Defense for Shubman Gill and India Batters – Asia Cup 2023 Drama Unveiled!

Shoaib Akhtar Takes a Swipe at Rohit Sharma: Questions His Ability to Face Shaheen Afridi’s Left-arm Fast Bowling in Asia Cup 2023!

After sending two out-swinging balls to Rohit Sharma, Shaheen Afridi surprised him with one that came back in. It sneaked through the small space between Rohit’s bat and pad, knocking the off-stump clean out of the ground.

Since the beginning of 2021, Rohit Sharma has faced quite a challenge when up against left-handed pacers. He’s been dismissed six times by them. In those encounters, he’s managed to score 138 runs off 147 deliveries, with an average of 23 and a strike rate of 93.87. Tough battles on the pitch!

Shoaib Akhtar criticized Rohit Sharma, pointing out that he couldn’t counter Shaheen Afridi’s strategy, which was to pitch the ball full and make it swing in. Akhtar believes that despite knowing Afridi’s approach, the 36-year-old Indian captain needs to find a way to handle the 23-year-old Pakistan speedster and stop being too concerned about i

“I don’t think Rohit can read or understand Shaheen at all. The sight of Rohit Sharma struggling like this wasn’t pleasant to watch; he’s a much better player than what we saw. I believe Rohit has the potential to bat much better than this, but it seems like he’s overthinking the situation,” Akhtar commented on his YouTube channel.

“What a spell it was by Shaheen Afridi, what a bowler he is. Everyone knows what he will do, pitch it full and bring it back in, and despite that, Rohit Sharma had no answer. But, what is Rohit Sharma supposed to do? In his defense, he had last played him in 2022, and he does not get the opportunity to face him too often,” Akhtar explained.

Furthermore, Akhtar pointed out that the two rain breaks also didn’t help the Indian batters and disrupted their concentration. He said Shubman Gill getting cleaned bowled by Haris Rauf was due to the same reason. India’s openers had looked solid before the rain stopped play for the first time after 4.2 overs in Pallekele.

“The constant interruptions by rain, leading to the players going off the ground and coming back in, it affects the focus of the batters. Gill lost his wicket exactly because of this reason; he lost his concentration, and that’s why he played such a loose shot,” Akhtar commented on India’s batting line-up and the effects of rain.

India were four down for 66 after strikes from Shaheen and Haris Rauf. However, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya partnered for 138 runs to help India post 266. The second innings of play could not commence due to rain and the match had to be abandoned.
