India’s triumphant journey at the Asian Games 2023 begins with a bang! The women’s 10m Air Rifle Team has clinched a remarkable Silver medal, marking our nation’s first achievement at this prestigious event. The team’s exceptional performance is a testament to their dedication and skill, bringing pride to India on the international stage.

India has clinched its first medal at the 2023 Asian Games, and it’s a remarkable silver in the women’s 10m Air Rifle Team event. The competition unfolded in Hangzhou, China, with India’s talented shooters making a strong early impression on Sunday. The trio of Ramita, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chouksey displayed exceptional skill, securing India’s inaugural medal at the 2023 Asian Games.

India concluded the women’s 10m air rifle team event with a silver medal, boasting a commendable total score of 1886. In the final tally, China secured the gold medal with a score of 1896.6, while Mongolia took home the bronze with a total score of 1880. The Chinese team, featuring Han Jiayu, Huang Yuting, and Wang Zhilin, not only clinched the gold but also shattered a five-year-old Asian record. Additionally, Han Jiayu set a new Asian qualification record with a total score of 634.1, with all three Chinese shooters earning a spot in the final round.

The Indian team’s success continued as Ramita and Mehuli Ghosh qualified for the individual finals with impressive scores of 631.9 and 630.8, respectively. Notably, this achievement holds particular significance as team medals have made a return to the Asian Games after a gap of two editions.

India’s triumph in the women’s 10m Air Rifle Team event marked the commencement of their medal count at the Hangzhou Asian Games. This silver medal win was not just a proud moment for the team but also a historic one for the nation, being India’s first medal at the 19th Asian Games.

The silver medal has set a promising tone for India’s campaign at the Asian Games 2023, kindling hopes and aspirations for further victories in the days ahead.

Meanwhile, the host nation, China, secured the first gold medal of the continental sporting event on Sunday when Zou Jiaqi and Qiu Xiuping emerged victorious in the lightweight women’s doubles sculls competition in rowing.

Additionally, in another notable achievement, Arjun Jat Lal and Arvind Singh clinched the silver medal in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls event at the Asian Games 2023.
