Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami, Gokulashtami, Krishnasthami, or Srijayanti, is a significant Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is revered as the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. This auspicious occasion falls on the Ashtami Tithi (eighth day) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) during the Bhadrapad month of the Hindu calendar.
