This gesture highlights the influence that spiritual leaders can wield in shaping public perception and discourse, as well as the significance of considering diverse perspectives when evaluating the impact of cinematic works on cultural sentiments.

She said that ‘OMG 2’ and similar Bollywood movies were a consequence of the “casual attitude towards Hinduism.”

“There have been instances in the past where Hindu deities have been disrespected in films. We simply cannot tolerate any form of tampering with the sacred tenets of the Hindu faith. Should the Bollywood industry persist in such actions, the Hindu community will take to the streets in protest. Our reverence for Lord Shiva is far from trivial,” she emphasized.

Echoing a similar sentiment, social activist Sameer asserted that movies of this nature, ones that “inflame religious sensitivities within society,” should not be granted censor certificates. His perspective underscores the responsibility of filmmakers to approach sensitive subjects with caution and respect, considering the potential repercussions of their creative choices on communal harmony and societal equilibrium. This stance emphasizes the delicate balance between artistic expression and the imperative to uphold communal harmony and mutual respect.
